For hours and hours, I consume online. Never-ending scrolls on Pinterest and Instagram catered just to me. My nourishment for the day all wrapped up on my beautiful little phone.  Playing with the idea of the sacrament of communion, Blood & Grain makes that consumption holy. The concept of the body and the blood takes literal form with lungs made of bread and a heart made of red wine. 

    This work was shown at the gallery The Good Rice for a duration of two weeks. Throughout that time, the heart melted, and the bread became stale, while the images behind it stayed the same. Playing with works that change over the exhibition and those meant to remain stagnant highlighted the juxtaposition between those two concepts.
